Class Action Lawsuit for NIS 120 Million Against Bank Hapoalim for Exchange Fees is Ben Gurion Airport

A customer of Bank Hapoalim, represented by our firm, filed a class action to the District Court (Central) for NIS 120 million, for overcharging for currency exchange in Bank Hapoalim’s branch at Ben Gurion Airport, which is the only bank branch in the Airport. The prosecution argued that the exchange rate charged by Bank Hapoalim in Ben Gurion Airport for buying or selling foreign currency is significantly higher than the permitted rate, as well as the exchange rate charged by any one of Bank Hapoalim’s other branches throughout the country.
